On funny videos: "waiiiiiiiiiiitttt for it"
Totally, and I mean TOTALLY kills the fun. If you have no good commentary no add then don't say anything at all.
Thanks for writing this!!! I wanna add a point about land requirements! And the impact these have on local environments and wildlife:
To generate 1 MegaWatt of electricity, here's how much land you'd need using these energy sources:- coal: 12 acres- natural gas: 12 acres- nuclear: 12 acres- solar: 43 acres ! (~4x as much!)- wind: 70 acres !! (~6x as much!)2020欧洲杯体育在线网址- hydro: 315 acres !!! (~26x as much!!!)
Inefficient? And that's WITHOUT counting the production of the materials involved and the disposal of them once they need to be replaced (like you said, solar panels are made from Silicon. Making them or disposing of them is NOT a green process.)
Once you count everything involved in production in, the numbers EXPLODE. From MIT's report, here are the overall land requirements for each energy type, if 100% of the electricity in the US were produced by these sources:
- Solar - 33,000 sq. km- Wind - 66,000 sq. km2020欧洲杯体育在线网址- Nuclear - 440 sq. km
2020欧洲杯体育在线网址That's not a typo. Solar takes up 75x MORE space than nuclear, and wind an astonishing 150x more. This is not inconsequential. This is land and its wildlife that is affected.
Studied engineering at MIT, worked in renewable energy industry for 4 years.
Why do we care about land size? This is such a dumb argument. Economics is going to be the primary factor here and Nuclear loses drastically.
Because land usage is not a negligible factor in terms of overall environmental impact
As a straight girl on the opposite side of this, I LOVE this list!!!!!
Unique for sure. I'm pretty sure I'll make them up as I go along. Every time I come across a beautiful word/name in another language I take note to see if it's something that I could later fashion into a name.
Logic: They are UNIQUE! Nobody like them has ever existed. I wanted them to feel this in every way. I have a pretty unique name myself and I'm mega confident haha. Never experienced any of the bullying or self-esteem issues or anything like that. I actually have really enjoyed being the only one of my name at any organizations I've ever been a part of. =)
Rainbow or Wet Seal.
Violence towards animals.
LYING. Especially if it's consistent.
Looks absolutely matter. Two things:
As much as you can and are willing to, work on your appearance. This is hard because the reality is that life can throw many challenges your way that makes your appearance go to the absolute bottom of your priority list. Sickness, family trouble, emergencies, financial distress, will all contribute towards you not having enough energy/time/fucks to give to schedule a regular gym routine. And no one would blame you! But if you are lucky enough to have a bit of mental energy/time, it's worth to try your best at the way you present yourself to others. It absolutely makes a different on how people perceive you. May not be fair, but it is what it is.
Play to your strengths!2020欧洲杯体育在线网址Fashion, skincare, makeup, and hair, go a loooooooooong way in making you look attractive. A little chubby? Wear the right sized clothes! Pudgy but pretty face? Accentuate that smile!!! Bad skin but lovely long hair, flex that!!! We all have attributes that we can highlight to make ourselves feel better about ourselves =)
I will probably be an outlier so not sure how much it'll help but here it is:
I quit a fantastic company that was paying me $120k/yr with less than 2 years overall work experience. Truth was I had gotten a new promotion that I HATED. Role was such a bad fit. I had always had entrepreneurial ambitions so I quit with about 3 months worth of savings to start a company. I was hoping to get investors. Eventually patched little gigs here and there to pay the bills and survived 1 full year without real work. Company I set off to start never went anywhere.
1 year later after first quitting my last full time, I walked into a recruiters office. I am now worth $200k/yr with 3 years of work experience. I'm an engineer, and work on high tech in Silicon Valley. I'm still crushed I couldn't make my startup happen, but I'm very grateful to have a solid plan B.
